Although he is soon to be an 85-year-old, country icon Willie Nelson doesn’t show signs of stopping anytime soon. The singer just announced that his new album titled Last Man Standing will be released on April 27, 2018. This will be just a few days before his 85th birthday, and something which slowly becomes a tradition for Nelson. His last album, 2017’s God’s Problem Child, was released just one day before his 84th birthday.

Since Nelson is a man of action, alongside the announcement of the album, he also presented us its first single, also titled “Last Man Standing”. You can check it out below.

After sharing writing credits for seven songs on God’s Problem Child, Nelson and his longtime collaborator and producer Buddy Cannon teamed up once again and wrote all 11 songs for the Last Man Standing together.

“Willie’s a jazz singer and jazz player — he’s an improvisational musician,” – Cannon commented on their songwriting process. “It’s different every time. Get a good take and go with it.”
