Tove Lo promises fans that her new album will be “happier” as a result of her recent lifestyle changes.

The Swedish singer is best known for her big hit “Stay High” which is a club banger but also a bit of a downer. Her fourth album, fittingly titled “Sunshine Kitty”, will be far more upbeat.

“I think they can expect a little bit of a happier side of me,” she told Gay Times. “There’s definitely some club bangers on there, but some of it is a bit more acoustic. Maybe it’s because I’ve been living in LA for a while, or that I’m in a great relationship so I’m just happy at the moment!”

She added: “It’s still vulnerable and honest and dirty at times, but I think it’s a bit sunnier.”

With regards to the album’s themes, Tove Lo has revealed that the record will reflect her current situation, living in LA with her partner.

“All of my albums reflect where I am at in my life and what I’ve been going through, so I think instead of me being… I used to get scared about being vulnerable, but now I’m more accepting of it,” she explained. “It’s definitely nice to have friends to lean on – it’s a lot about friendship.”

Sunshine Kitty‘s release date is yet to be announced but has been confirmed for 2019.
