Thundercat and Tame Impala have just released an intriguing new single, “No More Lies.” The track brings together Thundercat’s signature funky bass-playing style and Tame Impala’s psychedelic vibe, with both musicians sharing vocal duties and signing about relationship failures.

Thundercat (real name Stephen Lee Bruner) and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker have split the writing credits on the song, and both served as producers. Hear “No More Lies” below.

“I’ve wanted to work with Kevin since the very first Tame Impala album,” said Thundercat in a press release. “I feel that I knew that us working together would be special. I’ve been excited about this song for a long time.”

“No More Lies” is the first new music from Thundercat since 2020 and his fourth solo album It Is What It Is. The record was met with widespread critical acclaim and won Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album.

Unlike Thundercat, Kevin Parker and his project Tame Impala have kept themselves busy recently. Last year, they shared a collection of B-sides and remixes from their 2020’s album The Slow Rush while also dropping a number of singles and features. They kept the same pace in 2023, releasing “Wings of Time” as part of the soundtrack for fantasy flick Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
