SZA made quite a splash with her smash hit “Kill Bill”, and it was just a matter of time before this song reached the top of the charts. That moment is finally here, and the R&B star managed to score her very first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with this viral banger.

“Kill Bill” spent eight weeks at No. 2 before finally climbing to the top spot, following the release of the Doja Cat remix. Even though this new version certainly led to the song’s recent surge, Doja Cat wasn’t credited alongside SZA on the Hot 100 because the majority of the song’s overall consumption hails from the original version.

“Kill Bill” managed to hit No. 1 with 86.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, 28.3 million streams, and 5,000 downloads. Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” dropped to No. 2, followed by Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” and Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj’s “Princess Diana”, which debuted at No. 4.

“Kill Bill” was initially released as one of the songs from SZA’s sophomore studio album SOS, and it debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Given its strong streaming numbers, the song was later released as the fifth single from this record LP and its music video paid homage to Quentin Tarantino’s iconic film Kill Bill.
