The Weeknd took us on one wild ride during his After Hours era, and he’s getting ready for the next chapter of his journey. The Canadian hitmaker gave us a taste of things to come with his latest single “Take My Breath”.

The Cliqua-directed video for The Weeknd’s latest single is inspired by the Matrix movies and it shows the singer attending an epic rave. The video made headlines before it even came out, after being pulled out of theIMAX showings of The Suicide Squad due to its intense strobing effects.

“Take My Breath” will be featured on The Weeknd’s upcoming fifth studio album, which he started working on in quarantine last year. Not much is known about it so far, but the singer recently told GQ that he’d like to work with Kanye West and Tyler, the Creator in the nearby future.

Even before he started plotting his next studio album, The Weeknd gave us several amazing tracks throughout 2021. He joined forces with Ariana Grande for the chart-topping remix of “Save Your Tears”, and collaborated with the likes of Doja Cat, Young Thug, and Belly.
