It seems like The Strokes have almost wrapped up the work on the follow to 2013’s Comedown Machine. During their New Year’s Eve live gig at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the band’s frontman Julian Casablancas shared with fans that the “new album is coming out soon.”

At one point during the gig, which also saw Mac Demarco and Hinds join as special guests, Casablancas asked the fans whether they would like to hear a new song. After an ear-deafening cheer from the crowd, he went on to announced that their sixth studio album is on its way.

“Surprise. 2020 here we come,” – said Casablancas. “We took the 2010’s – whatever the f*** they’re called – we took ’em off but now we’ve been unfrozen and we’re back.”

The Strokes then went on and debuted new track “Ode To The Mets,” which is expected to be part of their new LP. Watch the entire thing in the video below.

Back in May, the group presented another new song, “The Adults Are Talking,” which they played live at a show in Los Angeles.
