Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in "The Devil Wears Prada"

With songs from Elton John and Shaina Taub, the stage adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada is certainly something to look forward to. And now, Deadline reports, it has a premiere date.

The musical is set to begin its previews on July 14, 2020, and it will play shows there until August 16. The shows will be held at James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago. It is still unknown when or where on Broadway the play will be run.

The musical is based on Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling novel from 2003. It will be directed by Anna D. Shapiro and will feature music written by John and lyrics by Taub and book by Paul Rudnick. Nadia DiGiallonardo will handle music supervision.

In 2006, the novel was also adapted to the screens in a movie from Fox 2000 starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. It follows Andy, an ambitious young writer in New York City who lands a job at a prestigious magazine. Trying to survive under her stylish yet terrifying boss, Andy finds herself caught between the dreams she thought she wanted, and the cost of what that reality brings.
