Teddy Swims is one of the country’s biggest rising stars right now, and he wouldn’t be where he is without his breakout hit “Lose Control”. After steadily climbing up the Billboard Hot 100 chart for months, “Lose Control” finally became Swims’ first song to hit the top 10.

“Lose Control” initially debuted at No. 99 when it was first released, as the second single from Swims’ debut studio album I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1). It’s been months since its release last summer, but this song finally managed to enter the top ten this week.

“Lose Control” peaked at No. 8 with 24.5 million radio audience impressions, 16.3 million streams, and 6,000 downloads. In addition to reaching a new peak on the Hot 100 chart, this song also hit No. 2 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart.

“Lose Control” had a slow climb to the top ten, but Swims’ manager Luke Conway never lost hope it would eventually become a hit.

“It’s his story. This is the golden egg we’ve been searching for and fighting to dig out of the ground for five years. There have been a lot of conversations about finding a feature, but we see the lifespan of this song. We can’t dilute it by giving it anybody else’s identity,” Conway told Billboard last year.
