]]>Linkin Park’s new album From Zero is the buzziest new release since it marks the band’s first studio effort without the late frontman Chester Bennington. Emily Armstrong took over as vocalist earlier this year, and appeared on several singles ahead of the album’s release, with “Two Faced” serving as the fourth.
Linkin Park’s From Zero isn’t the only new album to create a lot of buzz this week. Shawn Mendes made the cut with “The Mountain” from Shawn, Jon Batiste impressed us with “Dusklight Movement” from Beethoven Blues, while Rauw Alejandro joined forces with Bad Bunny for “Qué Pasaría” from his new album Cosa Nuestra.

]]>Townshend took part in a recent roundtable conversation with Clash Music and revealed that John reached out to Carlile to work on new music together after his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour came to a close.
“Elton is so fraught with loss at not knowing what to do next. He’s just gone over to LA to make an album with Brandi Carlile. They made an album together in two weeks. He says it’s one of the best things they’ve ever done,” said Townshend.
John and Carlile are yet to share any news about this project, but it wouldn’t be a shocker to see them join forces again. Carlile was one of the artists featured on John’s collaborative album The Lockdown Sessions from 2021, alongside Dua Lipa, Charlie Puth, Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X, Stevie Wonder, and Stevie Nicks.
Carlile also joined John for a performance at the Dodgers Stadium in 2022, and he later told People that they have an amazing friendship and “find [themselves] in a position of being soulmates.”

]]>Chris Martin and his bandmates were simultaneously performing in Gothenburg, Sweden, while John’s final Farewell Tour show was happening at Stockholm’s Tele2Arena. They took a moment to tune in via a video broadcast, which was beamed out at the musicians’ respective concerts in Sweden after Coldplay delivered an emotional cover of John’s all-time classic “Rocketman”.
Martin addressed John directly in the touching video and reflected on many amazing things he has done over the years.
“Elton, from all of us here, from all the bands and all the artists that you’ve loved and inspired and helped, we just love you so much. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done for us, everything you’ve done for the AIDS Foundation. Every time you’ve been kind to anybody,” said Martin.
John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road came to a close in Stockholm on July 8, after five years and 333 shows. It made history as the highest-grossing tour of all time and the first one to ever cross the $900 million mark.

]]>After passing Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour to become the highest-grossing tour of all time, Farewell Yellow Brick Road set another major record. According to Billboard Boxscore, this tour amassed a staggering $910.4 million in gross revenue as of June 18, becoming the first tour ever to break the $900 million barrier.
This news comes shortly after John’s historic performance at the iconic Glastonbury Festival, which marked his final UK show. He described it as a fitting way to say goodbye to his British fans and thanked his fans for supporting his show at the Pyramid Stage.
“The energy last night was like nothing else, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the crowd and the people watching at home for all your love and support. You will be in my heart and soul forever. UK, what a farewell. I love you,” wrote John on Instagram after Glastonbury.
Farewell Yellow Brick Road kicked off back in September 2018, and it includes over 300 concert dates, with the last one taking place in Stockholm, Sweden on July 8.

“Glastonbury is the crème de la crème… To be honest with you, it’s the first time I’ve been asked to play it. It’s just come at the right time. I’m a great believer in serendipity and fate – this is the most wonderful way to sign off in England,” John told BBC Radio 2.
He also revealed that his Glastonbury setlist will be much different from the rest of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour and mentioned he’ll be joined by mystery guests. He didn’t say who would join him, but the list of possible guests includes his recent collaborators Dua Lipa and Rina Sawayama, featured on his 2021 album The Lockdown Sessions.
The list of Glastonbury headliners this year also includes Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses, while Queens Of The Stone Age, Lizzo, Lil Nas X, and Lana Del Rey are also set to perform.

]]>John recently set down with Deadline to discuss his ongoing Farewell Yellow Brick Road and Disney+ concert film Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium. The explained that he wanted to go out with a bang, and performing at Dodger Stadium was an amazing full-circle moment.
“We wanted to end in Los Angeles because my career started in America at The Troubadour in 1970. And then we did the wonderful concert in ‘75 at Dodger Stadium… I thought it would be a wonderful thing to close the circle to play Dodger Stadium as the last show in Los Angeles,” explained John.
It’s been almost six months since he wrapped up the North American leg of the tour at Dodger Stadium, but his farewell tour is far from over. John is currently busy touring across Europe, and he’s expected to perform his last-ever UK show at Glastonbury on June 25. He’ll then head to Paris, Zürich, and Copenhagen, before concluding the tour at Stockholm’s Tele2 Arena on July 8.

Elton John is no stranger to collaborating with heavy metal acts, and one of his latest collaborations came in the form of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Ordinary Man”. ]]>In an official statement announcing her involvement, the “Don’t Start Now” singer said it’s a dream come true to share the stage with Elton John, especially since it’s for a good cause.
“It’s such an honor to be a part of one of the most iconic Oscar parties and I’m really proud to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation to help tackle the stigma that exists around HIV as we need to build a kinder and more accepting world together,” explained Lipa.
Elton John echoed her statement and promised his Oscar pre-party will feature many fabulous surprise names. The virtual pre-party will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris on April 25th, and Lipa is expected to give a “stripped back” performance during the event.
This announcement comes about a week after the “New Rules” singer won a Grammy for the best pop vocal album with Future Nostalgia. “Love Again” was recently released as the sixth single from this album, and Lipa is currently climbing the charts with the new version of “Levitating”, featuring DaBaby.
