Expectations are running high for this year’s Glastonbury festival, especially since Elton John is one of its headliners. The legendary singer recently spilled some tea about his upcoming performance and described his headlining set as “the most wonderful way to sign off.”

John will take the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset on June 25, and this will mark the final show of his last world tour.

“Glastonbury is the crème de la crème… To be honest with you, it’s the first time I’ve been asked to play it. It’s just come at the right time. I’m a great believer in serendipity and fate – this is the most wonderful way to sign off in England,” John told BBC Radio 2.

He also revealed that his Glastonbury setlist will be much different from the rest of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour and mentioned he’ll be joined by mystery guests. He didn’t say who would join him, but the list of possible guests includes his recent collaborators Dua Lipa and Rina Sawayama, featured on his 2021 album The Lockdown Sessions.

The list of Glastonbury headliners this year also includes Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses, while Queens Of The Stone Age, Lizzo, Lil Nas X, and Lana Del Rey are also set to perform.
