Stone Temple Pilots just presented us their new song from the upcoming LP Stone Temple Pilots, which is set for release on March 16. Titled “Roll Me Under,” the song is the band’s second track that features former X Factor runner-up Jeff Gutt, who was selected as vocalist after the death of frontman Scott Weiland. Full of fitting highs and lows, wrapped into Dean DeLeo’s exciting guitar parts, this song makes us even more thrilled about the band’s newest album.

“‘Roll Me Under’ was one of the first songs I wrote for the album, and one of the first Jeff sang on too,” said bassist Robert DeLeo. “Those riffs have been kicking around in my head for years, and it felt like the right time to record and perform it.”

The band’s upcoming self-titled release will be the first one after 2010. Following its release, Stone Temple Pilots will embark on North American tour. Speaking for Rolling Stone Magazine, guitarist Dean DeLeo said the fans can expect all sorts of surprises when it comes to the setlists for the live concerts, and that the band could even play some of the songs that have never been played live before.

“We can all expect Stone Temple Pilots’ classics done with respect to the members still here and the ones that aren’t,” Gutt added. “It’s important to me that these legacies stay intact and are celebrated, and to continue the musical journey of Stone Temple Pilots with the new music.”
