Stone Temple Pilots says they explored a side of themselves they never showed us before in their new album Perdida, and we finally know everything there is to know about this album – including the track list and release date.
The title of this record originates from the Spanish word for “loss”, which is pretty fitting since they wanted to explore the feeling of heartbreak and grief with this album.
“I was looking back at difficult moments in my life. I was trying to be vulnerable and that’s a scary thing to do, but it’s also kind of comfortable,” said the band’s lead singer Jeff Gutt while chatting with Rolling Stone.
Perdida has been described as an acoustic album and most of the songs were recorded on vintage instruments. That’s why it’s only fitting to support it with unplugged tour – and that’s exactly what the members of Stone Temple Pilots intend to do when they hit the road next year.
Perdida will come out on February 7th, and it will feature a total of ten songs, including previously released single “Fare Thee Well”. They’ll kick off the tour two days earlier, with a concert at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on February 5th.
