May 4th marked a milestone in pop culture. The Smash Mouth hit “All Star” has just turned 20 on this day. Now Breath Carolina is giving it a present – a new electronic remix.

The song has originally appeared on the album Astro Longue but it became a hit when it was included in the soundtrack of Shrek (it was also on the soundtrack of Mystery Men). It is by far the biggest hit the band ever released and all later material that they dished out has lived in its shadow.

The new remix is an official collaboration between the band and the electronic duo Breath Carolina and both parties were excited to work on it. “We as a band are flattered and grateful for the love and attention,” said Smash Mouth while Breath Carolina said the song was big when they grew up. “To think that we got to take it and give it a modern twist is so crazy!”, they said.
