It looks like Guns N’ Roses are definitely working on a new album, but we shouldn’t expect it anytime soon. The band’s guitarist, Slash recently had a sit-down with Japanese music critic Maso Ito and gave an update about their new album.

“Axl [Rose], Duff [McKagan], myself and [guitarist] Richard [Fortus] have all talked about… there’s material and stuff going on already for a new record,” – said Slash. “It’s just, with Guns N’ Roses, you don’t go, ‘Oh, there is a plan, and it’s gonna be like this,’ because that’s not how it works. So, basically, the only real answer to give is we’re hoping to put a new record out, and we’ll just see what happens when it happens.”

The 53-year-old guitarist also reflected on the reunion of Guns N’ Roses’ classic lineup after 20 years and their recent massively successful worldwide tour.

“The band was great, the f***ing entourage, the crew, the whole production was just like this really great marriage of people, and we just all had a really good time,” – he added. “And the fans were amazing. So I’m really happy that it happened.”

Guns N’ Roses’ last record was 2016’s Chinese Democracy, but the record didn’t feature any of the founding members besides vocalist Axl Rose. The most recent album that featured original songs from the band’s classic lineup was 1991’s Use Your Illusion II.
