Every rock band dreams about that amazing moment when they could say they recorded ten albums together – and Skillet is getting there. Their next record, Victorious, is officially coming out this year.

Skillet’s tenth studio album is set to be released on August 2nd. John and Korey Cooper produced majority of the songs together, and they set out to make an album that has a lot of emotion to it.

“We got to really dig in and try anything we wanted to try, and that comes through in some of the intricacies of the production. It’s quite a musical record. I think it’s a little bit more musical than we’ve done in a long time,” explained John Cooper in an interview with Billboard.

A new song titled “Legendary” will serve as their first single, geared towards mainstream radio station. They already performed it live and received a great response according to Cooper, who said this song is here to remind us to make our life count.
