Just when we thought that the competition for the song of the summer was too crowded, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello decided to add some fuel to the fire.
The music video for their new collaboration, “Señorita,” is here, and we’ll be dancing to it all summer long.
Dave Meyers, who was in charge of directing the visual for Cabello’s breakout hit “Havana,” came back to helm this sensual video. He perfectly captured the love story between the young couple and eventual fallout of their passionate relationship.
Mendes and Cabello previously collaborated on the 2015 song “I Know What You Did Last Summer” – her first single as a solo artist. It was just a matter of time before they teamed up again, and “Señorita” was in the works for nine months before they shared it with the world.
“It’s one of the most natural things in the world for he and I to do a song together. I think I’ve actually known him the longest out of anybody in the music industry – we’ve been in each other’s lives for like four or five years, and it’s been really beautiful to kinda grow up together,” said Cabello in an interview with Clash Music.
