Shakira will achieve another major career milestone when she performs alongside Jennifer Lopez at the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. She’s looking forward to this opportunity and wants to use it to pay homage to her Latin heritage.

The Colombian singer recently discussed this highly-anticipated event with Associated Press and said that her dream of performing at the Super Bowl always had a very important purpose. “To celebrate that culture, to showcase it in a country where Latinos have also struggled a lot. I feel really humbled and with a great responsibility in my hands to represent the Latino community,” the singer, who’s set to perform at this event on February 2nd, 2020, said.

The three-time Grammy-winning artist is currently busy promoting her upcoming movie Shakira in Concert: El Dorado World Tour, set to be released on November 13 with an accompanying live album.

This concert film will give her fans a close-up view at her latest tour, which consisted of 54 shows taking place around Europe, Asia, North America, and Latin America between June and November of 2018.
