Music is only one of Selena Gomez’s many talents, and it seems she’ll soon stop making it a priority. She dropped hints about a potential retirement in a recent interview and suggested her next album could be her last, as she shifts focus to other creative endeavors.

Gomez recently made an appearance on an episode of the SmartLess podcast alongside Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. She revealed she’s thinking of putting music on the back burner and focusing on other things, including her acting career, her best-selling cosmetics brand Rare Beauty, and her philanthropic endeavors.

Gomez said she feels like she has one more album left in her, and that she’ll probably choose acting afterward. She also added that music was never her first career of choice, but she fell into it after recording a theme song for Disney’Wizards of Waverly Place.

“I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else. I don’t think I’m the best singer but I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs,” said Gomez.

The two-time Grammy nominee is currently plotting her fourth studio album, which she described as a “real pop record” with an R&B moment in a recent interview with Vogue Mexico.
