Sammy Hagar is back on the road, but not with Van Halen as many fans hoped for in recent years. Instead, Hagar, backed by his band The Circle, will join Whitesnake for a joint tour across the United States.

Hagar and Whitesnake will perform 30 shows during the trip, which will kick off in West Palm Beach on July 9th. The caravan will then visit cities like Charlotte, Camden, Dallas, Phoenix, and Auburn before wrapping up the tour in Chula Vista on September 20th. American hard rockers Night Ranger will serve as the opening act for both Hagar and Whitesnake.

“I love some friendly competition on stage, and that’s exactly what this is going to be,” said Hagar in a statement. “David [Coverdale] and I have nothing but the highest respect for one another, but we would also like to blow the other guy off the stage! Add in Night Ranger, and the fans will have one hell of a night of music.”

Sammy Hagar formed The Circle in 2014, recruiting Waboritas guitarist Vic Johnson, drummer Jason Bonham, who is the son of Led Zeppelin’s original drummer John Bonham, and bassist Michael Anthony. The group released its first album, titled Space Between, in the summer of 2019. The record was well-received, peaking at No.4 on US Billboard 200.
