If you were looking forward to seeing Royal Trux live during their North America tour, we have some bad news for you; there will be no tour after all. According to several media outlets, including Pitchfork and Stereogum, the American alternative rock duo canceled the upcoming shows that were set to take place in May and June.

After 14-years hiatus, Neil Hagerty and Jennifer Herrema reunited Royal Trux in 2015 for a series of live shows. In October 2018, the duo announced new album White Stuff, their first new music in 19 years, while plotting a North America tour in February and March. The tour was rescheduled later rescheduled “due to some unresolved issue arising from a past arrest.”

This turn of events doesn’t come as a major surprise since Hagerty told Guardian back in March that he is leaving the band and that he won’t do the tour.

“I’m not touring. She steamrollered right over me, man. I’m not … I’m just doing this as a favor to Fat Possum. The album – I didn’t approve of it. I have no idea what it is. I’ve heard like 10 seconds of one song. I’m out, man.” – Hagerty said.

Herrema later stated that Hagerty didn’t mean this and that everything is fine.

“He’s done this on every tour. He always shows up, always does the tours.” – she said.

It seems like Hagerty really meant what he said this time and that this might be the end of Royal Trux once again. Still, we will have to wait and see how what happens in the coming weeks to be sure.
