2024 is shaping up to be a life-changing year for Raye, and she just reached another major career milestone. The recent six-time Brit Awards winner made her Saturday Night Live debut, and knocked us off our feet with powerful renditions of “Escapism” and “Worth It”.

It’s been over a year since the release of Raye’s long-awaited debut studio album My 21st Century Blues, and she’s still making waves with this record. After dominating this year’s Brit Awards with historic six wins, Raye was invited to serve as a musical guest on the latest episode of SNL, hosted by Kristen Wiig.

After the episode aired, she shared her rendition of “Worth It” on social media. She captioned it by writing “just a little south London girl performing on SNL”, followed by a series of crying emojis, and added she’s lost for words after her performance on the iconic sketch show.

Raye also delivered a jazz-inspired rendition of her breakout hit “Escapism”. This breakup anthem came out in late 2022, and went on to become a viral sensation, hitting No. 1 in her home country of the UK. It also won her a prize for song of the year at this year’s Brit Awards, where she also won a trophy for the British artist of the year and album of the year for My 21st Century Blues.
