PJ Harvey’s tenth studio album is just a month away and she finally shared its title track with the world. The British singer surprised fans with a new single “I Inside the Old Year Dying” and announced she’ll embark on a tour across Europe in support of her new album.

Harvey described “I Inside the Old Year Dying” as a delicate and beautiful song that eluded her and her fellow producers John Parish and Flood until the very last day in the studio. Its lyrics are meant to capture the ethereal and melancholic longing for a savior.

“Everyone and everything anticipates the arrival of this figure of love and transformation. There is a sense of se-ual longing and awakening and of moving from one realm into another – from child to adult, from life to death and the eternal,” she explained in a statement.

“I Inside the Old Year Dying” will be featured on PJ Harvey’s tenth studio album of the same name – her first LP since The Hope Six Demolition Project from 2016. It will hit the shelves on July 7, and she previously teased its release with the lead single, “A Child’s Question, August”.

PJ Harvey will support her new album with a tour across the UK and Europe, set to kick off in late September with two concerts at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland.
