Pixies Share New Single and Detail Next Album

Pixies announced they will be releasing a new album back in January, but the band was tight-lipped on the details. Now, Black Francis and co. finally decided to share some details about the release with the public, announcing that the record, titled Beneath the Eyrie, will be out on September 13th.

According to the press release, the album, which will be the band’s eighth studio release, was recorded in 2018 with Grammy-nominated producer Tom Dalgety handling the production. It will contain 12 songs, most of which revolve around dark, mysterious, and haunted subjects including “witches, Daniel Boone, misfits.”

Besides detailing Beneath the Eyrie, Pixies also presented a new single from the album, “On Graveyard Hill.” Hear it below.

Pixies’ last album,Head Carrier, which was released in 2016. The record peaked at No.72 on US Billboard 200 charts and broke into top 10 at UK Albums. The critics, however, had mixed opinions about the album, stating that it doesn’t compare well to the band’s previous releases.
