Paul McCartney will finally gift his fans some new music. The ex-Beatle announced he will be releasing two new singles, “I Don’t Know” and “Come On To Me,” on June 20th. These singles will also serve as a preview for McCartney’s new album, which is scheduled for release in fall of 2018.

Paul McCartney spoke with DIYMag following the announcement and said that he got inspired to write the singles while he was working on the reissue of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for the album’s 50th anniversary.

“I remember going up to the studio a couple of times and saying, oh well I was listening to this program last night and I thought on ‘Penny Lane’ it was just one piano that I played but it turns out it’s eight!” McCartney told DIYMag.

“We were goofing around on that, and it inspires you and makes you think you can go anywhere. It’s still gonna sound like a piano, but sonically you can play with it. …Pepper was a big influence.”

These two singles will be McCartney’s first new music since 2015 and song “FourFiveSeconds,” on which he collaborated with Kanye West and Rihanna. His last solo music effort came in 2014 when he released single “Hope For The Future,” which was featured on the Destiny 2 soundtrack.

While he is not working on new music, Paul McCartney is doing Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. He will be featured in this week’s episode of Corden’s popular segment, and you can check out the trailer below.
