Rodrigo has been dropping hints about her new music for quite some time, and all hell broke loose after she launched a mysterious countdown on her website on June 2. After a lot of speculations, she finally made things official and announced that her new single “Vampire” is hitting the shelves on June 30.
She shared the exciting news by posting a black and white cover art, that shows her rocking dark lipstick, winged eyeliner, and two band-aids across her neck. Unlike the rest of the picture, the band-aids come in a gentle lilac shade and they’re meant to symbolize the place of a vampire-fang puncture wound.
Rodrigo’s fans have been waiting for the rising pop star to share some new music since 2021, when her debut album Sour took the world by storm. Two of its singles: “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U”—hit No. 1 in the US, making it the first debut album to have two songs debut atop the Billboard 100 chart. Sour also won Rodrigo a Grammy for best pop vocal album.
