Our favorite Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men will release new album this summer! It will be titled Fever Dream, and the band says it allowed them to explore their lighter side and embrace a more playful sound.

The band’s third studio album is set to hit the shelves on July 26th, and they showed us what to expect with their new song “Alligator.”

The band’s lead vocalist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir recently discussed the song and their upcoming album with New Musical Express.

“The main inspiration behind ‘Alligator’ was a drive and an energy. It wasn’t necessarily what I was feeling at that moment, but I wanted to feel strong. It was about finding that space of feeling empowered,” explained Nanna.

The Of Monsters and Men singer had to truly get out of her comfort zone while writing Fever Dream, and doing so allowed her to be more playful and create a record that’s a departure from band’s old sound.

“For me, this album is a different world entirely. Beneath The Skin was a bit heavier and not as accessible as our first album, but this one is more poppy and brighter. There are still a lot of dark corners, of course,” said Nanna.
