Nicki Minaj made quite a splash when she dropped her latest album Pink Friday 2 last month, and she’s not done pushing boundaries with this record. Pink Friday 2 surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, becoming the fastest album by a female rapper to achieve this.

Pink Friday 2 hit the shelves on December 8, 2023, and its release was preceded by singles “Super Freaky Girl”, “Red Ruby da Sleeze”, and “Last Time I Saw You”, the first of which became Minaj’s first solo single to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Following its release, Pink Friday 2 easily soared to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the rapper’s third LP to do so. It also helped her break the tie with Foxy Brown for most No. 1 albums among female rappers, leaving her as the sole holder of this record.

One month after its release, Pink Friday 2 is still pushing boundaries on Spotify, and Chart Data reports it already surpassed the one billion mark. This makes it the fastest album by a female rapper to reach this coveted number, and it transformed Minaj into the first female rapper to have five albums with over one billion streams on Spotify.
