Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj dropped the retirement bomb on us, and then to add to the confusion also hinted she has a new album coming out. And while we still don’t know for sure if and when the rap star is planning to leave the limelight, we have a little more to tell about the new album.
“It’s probably the most excited I’ve been about an album release in a really long time,” she said to Elle fashion magazine during a photoshoot of her new collection Fendi Prints On. “ I’m happy that we’re not making my fans wait for another album, like I’ve done in the past.”
Minaj added that the album will be “fierce, fun, and unapologetic,” and promised that “this one incorporates all the things people love about Nicki, but it also just has a way bigger sound, so it goes perfectly with the collection.”
It should also be noted that Minaj’s original quitting twit has been deleted and replaced with a promise that she’s “still right here” and that “u guys will be happy.”
And what about her fashion career? “The Fendi collection alone made me feel like I would love to continue doing this—getting to that boss status,” she assured Elle. “That’s where I would like to take fashion, for sure.”
