Back in June, Nick Cave went to London’s Alexandra Palace and performed a solo piano concert at an empty venue. The performance was captured on camera and is now set for one-off livestream on July 23rd.

The special thing about the stream, titled Idiot Prayer: Nick Cave Alone At Alexandra Palace, is that it will be treated as a live event. The fans will have to purchase the ticket to tune in and won’t be able to pause it. Also, the concert will be shown in just three broadcasts to accommodate different time zones and won’t be available online after that.

According to the press release, the performance features Cave playing “early Bad Seeds and Grinderman, right through to the most recent Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album Ghosteen.”

Nick Cave recently confirmed that he wouldn’t go on scheduled North America tour with The Bad Seeds this year. The Australian musicians supposed to embark on a 20-date trip across Canada and U.S. in September and October but ended up deciding to cancel the shows due to coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent social media post, Cave promised the fans that the canceled gigs would be rescheduled for 2021, with the new dates expected to be made official in the fall.
