Natasha Bedingfield gave us some of the catchiest songs of the 2000s with “Unwritten” and “Pocketful of Sunshine” and then disappeared without a trace. It’s been nine years since her last album came out, but she’s finally ready for a comeback!

Bedingfield’s fourth record Roll with Me finally hit the shelves on August 30th, and she discussed her creative process in a recent interview with Billboard.

“I didn’t want to release something that I wasn’t happy with, so it’s taken a bit long to write. Every creative has to realize that when you put out something personal into the world, there’s definitely a shaking that you feel inside. It’s almost like setting yourself free,” said the singer.

Natasha Bedingfield previously admitted that the back-and-forth between her American and English labels tampered her creative process in the past, but she feels like she’s in her prime right now. She also believes her voice has gotten better and stronger over the years, allowing her to become “a magician on stage”.
