Metallica continues to honor Manchester legends during their live shows in this city. After playing Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back in Anger” in 2017 at their show in Manchester arena, the thrash metal legends now decided to pay a nod to Stone Roses.

Metallica played a show at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night and decided to treat the audience by covering “I Wanna be Adored” from the iconic Manchester band. Bassist Rob Trujillo took the main role for the track, playing the recognizable bass line and signing the vocal parts while being backed by guitarist Kirk Hammett.

Metallica is currently on UK and Europe leg of their WorldWired Tour and are set to play on the continent through August. Following a pair of dates in the U.S. at San Francisco’s Chase Center, the band will embark on a trip across Oceania.

According to the band members, the group plans to enter the studio after the tour is finished, and they hope to record a follow-up to 2016’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct.
