Meghan Thee Stallion has been busy dropping hints about her new album on social media, and she just shared the biggest bombshell yet. The Grammy-winning rapper revealed her next album will be completely self-funded and she’s planning to release it independently.

Stallion shared some hints about her plans for the future on Instagram Live and said she wants to release her next album without a label. The rapper said she’s excited to be something all on her own before she’s ready to sign a deal with a new label.

“This part of my album is definitely very much funded by Megan because, you know, we’re trying to get off… Y’all know what’s the tea. I have no label right now, and we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. So, the budget is coming from me,” explained the rapper.

Stallion’s previous two albums—2020’s Good News and 2022’s Traumazine—were released in collaboration between 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified. The rapper took a break from music following the release of Traumazine to focus on her mental health and said that “fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place.” She made her long-anticipated comeback with the Cardi B collaboration “Bongos” last month.
