Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa are both queens of amazing collaborations, and it was just a matter of time before they joined forces. That moment is finally here, and their new single “Sweetest Pie” is the ultimate girl power anthem.
“Sweetest Pie” comes with a futuristic music video directed by Dave Meyers, based on the concept that Stallion came up with on her own. The video takes inspiration from Hansel and Gretel, and it shows the two stars rocking a series of elaborate costumes and luring naïve men to their ultimate death.
Stallion discussed their collaboration with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 and said she wanted to work together ever since hearing how amazing the mashups of their music are. They agreed that they should collaborate, but decided to wait until the moment felt right.
“So I didn’t just send her no any track. I waited till I had the perfect one and I feel like we both came to a mutual agreement that it was greatness—and now we got ‘Sweetest Pie,'” said the Grammy-winning rapper.
“Sweetest Pie” will be featured on Stallion’s upcoming second studio album, the follow-up to her 2020 debut record Good News.
