Mac Miller’s album Balloonerism was recorded in 2014 and never saw the light of day, but that’s about to change. The estate of the late rapper announced Balloonerism will be released in early 2025 and described it as a project of great importance to Miller.

Balloonerism will be released by Warner Records on January 17, 2025, but it’s actually been over a decade in the making. Miller recorded it back in 2014, around the time he worked on his mixtape Faces, but he eventually put it on the back burner as he shifted focus to other projects.

Miller’s estate announced the release of Balloonerism in an official statement and described it as a project that showcases both the breadth of his musical talents and fearlessness as an artist.

“It is a project that was of great importance to Malcolm – to the extent that he commissioned artwork for it and discussions concerning when it should be released were had regularly, though ultimately GO:OD AM and subsequent albums ended up taking precedence,” reads the statement.

Miller died in 2018, and Balloonerism won’t be the first posthumous album released after his passing. Its predecessor Circles came out in 2020 and produced singles “Good News” and “Blue World”.
