Two years after its initial release, Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” has reached number one in the charts.

Following the release of her latest album Cuz I Love You, Lizzo has gained a whole new fanbase. Her empowering performances have been a highlight of festival season and her appearances at award ceremonies have been stellar every time.

Now, two years after its original release, Lizzo’s single “Truth Hurts” has finally earned the number one spot of the Billboard Hot 100. When it was first released, the song flopped in the charts but now, it’s back in the Top 10 after a steady climb.

Earlier this year, Lizzo said of the track: “The day I released [the song] was probably one of the darkest days I’ve had ever in my career. I remember thinking: ‘If I quit music now, nobody would notice. This is my best song ever, and nobody cares.’”

Lizzo, if you quit, we would 100% care. And congrats on your number one.
