Linkin Park guitarist and rapper Mike Shinoda has announced that he is currently working on a solo album.

Linkin Park has effectively been on hiatus following the death of lead singer Chester Bennington in July last year, though Shinoda did indicate earlier this year that the group has every intention to continue going forward.

Last week Shinoda invited fans of Linkin Park to meet him at Hollywood’s iconic Tower Records building with the promise of appearing in the upcoming video for a song from his solo album.

“Who wants to meet up and be in a music video?” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m shooting something for my solo album at 8:30 in Hollywood tonight. In 45 minutes. Roll thru.”

The news comes after Shinoda released the “post-traumatic” EP in January which were released in honor of Bennington.

In the songs, Shinoda describes the experiences and feelings that he felt following the death of his long-time friend and band-mate Bennington.
