Lewis Capaldi has been pretty busy promoting his chart-topping album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent in recent months, but he reached his breaking point. The British singer announced he’ll take a break to “rest and recover” ahead of his upcoming Glastonbury performance.

Capaldi canceled several concerts he had scheduled for June in Glasgow, Dublin, London, and Norway, and apologized to his fans for the inconvenience. The singer revealed that touring has taken a toll on his mental and physical health since he hasn’t been home since Christmas.

“I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all of the other incredible shows coming up so that I’m able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come,” he wrote in a statement.

Capaldi will take the next three weeks to be “Lewis from Glasgow”, and he’ll go back to performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, taking place between June 21-26.

The British singer was very open about his struggles with anxiety in the face of his Tourette’s syndrome diagnosis and even said he’d consider quitting music if his symptoms worsen. Capaldi discussed these issues in a recent Netflix documentary How I’m Feeling Now, released ahead of his sophomore album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent.
