Chris Adler, drummer and co-founder of Lamb of God, has officially left the band. His fellow band members announced his departure in an emotional social media post and said he’ll be replaced by Art Cruz.

Adler has worked with countless other bands over the years, including Megadeth. That didn’t stop him from serving as Lamb of God’s drummer from the very formation of the band, and that’s why it’s so hard to see him go.

“We’re very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” reads band’s official statement.

Adler will be replaced by Art Cruz, who previously worked with metal bands Prong and Winds of Plague, before joining Lamb of God during their latest tour.

“We’d like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.”
