The Brazilain Guitar-virtuoso who joined Megadeth in 2015 is now working on his fifth solo album, he confirmed in an interview to Blabbermouth

“I’m here doing pre-production on my new album. I’m just working on new songs and recording drums next week,” he said.

When asked about the style of the album, Loureiro said that it’s a “mix of some ideas that I had in the past and some stuff that I just worked [on] in the past few weeks.”

“I don’t know when I’m gonna record the guitars, so probably until the end of the year,” he continued. “I’m gonna finish recording and mixing. I don’t know when it will be released.”

One thing that is clear is that the album will not come out before Megadeth’s next album: “We’re gonna finish the new Megadeth album first. It’s good to take the time now to play some guitar and develop some different ideas and put my creative mind to work a little bit. I’m sure you guys are gonna love it.”

And of course, we will. In the meanwhile, check out Loureiro’s finger work in the videos below, as he is covering his own solo from the song Morning Star by his previous band, Angra.
