We’ve seen many K-pop acts rise to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, and it was just a matter of time before NewJeans got there. They finally managed to top the chart with their latest EP Get Up, which marks their very first No. 1 album in the US.

NewJeans rose to the top with 126,500 equivalent album units earned during the EP’s first week on the chart, including 101,500 in album sales, 24,500 in SEA units (equaling 34.39 million on-demand official streams of the set’s six tracks), and 500 in TEA units.

NewJeans is the second all-female K-pop group to top the Billboard 200 chart in less than a year, following in the footsteps of Blackpink with their album Born Pink last September. Get Up is also the fourth non-English language album to hit No. 1 this year, following Stray Kids’ 5-STAR, Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito, and Tomorrow X Together’s The Name Chapter: Temptation.

The race for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart this week was pretty tight, and NewJeans won it by only 500 units. Barbie: The Album bowed at No. 2 with 126,000 equivalent album units earned, which marks the biggest week for a full-length theatrical film soundtrack by units since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born four years ago.
