It’s been a decade since Nowhere Boy gave us a closer look at John Lennon’s teen years and traced his creative evolution. This hit biopic will soon be transformed into a stage musical, inspired by the original movie.

Just like the film it’s based on, Nowhere Boy will focus on the early years of the future Beatle, and two women who played pivotal roles in his life – his mother Julia Lennon, who left him at an early age and aunt Mimi Smith, who raised him as her own child.

The stage version of this hit musical is still in early stages of development and producer Brian Lee believes it will premiere in the UK in the next few years.

“We’ve just secured the rights of the film and as a team we’ll be traveling to London this summer, trying to figure out the right person to bring this narrative to life,” revealed Lee while talking to Deadline.
