In today’s episode of Covers We Never Saw Coming: Jesse Hughes doing Mary J. Blige’s “Family Affair.” The Eagles Of Death Metal frontman recently presented his own take on Blige’s 2001’s hit as the first single for his upcoming album of covers Eagles Of Death Metal Presents Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote.

The record will be released the under Hughes’ alter ego Boots Electric and see him tackling various classics from different genres including AC/DC’s “High Voltage” and “It’s A Long Way to the Top,” the Kiss’ “God of Thunder,” and George Michael’s “Careless Whisper.”

The album will be out on June 7th and will be available in different formats including digital, CD, standard vinyl and limited-edition colored vinyl editions. In the meantime, you can hear Jesse Hughes’ cover of “Family Affair” below.
