J. Cole and Meek Mill to Headline NBA All-Star Game Performance

Rapper J. Cole will take the stage to perform in his hometown of Charlotte during this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend on February 17th. He will be joined by fellow rapper Meek Mill while Carly Rae Jepsen and Anthony Hamilton will sing the Canadian and the US National Anthem respectively.

This year’s NBA All-Star Game will take place at the Spectrum Center, the home arena of NBA team Charlotte Hornets. J. Cole first performed at the event in 2012 in a year he also took part in the Celebrity Game. Last year, the performances were done by rap group Migos and N.E.R.D.

Apart from performing at his hometown, J. Cole is having one of the best years in his career. He has two Grammy nominations this year and recently released a new single, “Middle Child,” on January 23rd. He has seven Grammy nominations in total and has had five No.1 albums in Billboard’s Top 200 charts.

Meek Mill will precede Cole, performing as the All-Star team enters the stage. He has two albums that topped Billboard 200. For the anthem singers, the NBA found a local singer, 48-year-old R &B singer Anthony Hamilton. He has had 17 Grammy nominations in total. Carly Rae Jepsen, on the other hand, became famous after her hit single “Call me Maybe went Viral in 2012.
