Just a few weeks after dropping his new EP Eat Your Young, Hozier decided to surprise us with another amazing treat. The music video for its main single is here, and it sees the singer performing a surreal play on two different stages, existing in perfect harmony with each other.

“Eat Your Young” sees Hozier and Ukranian-American actress Ivanna Sakhno performing a similar play on two stages, for a different audience. Hozier said that he wanted to do “something different” with this video, so he put together “an absurd little theatre consisting of two stags working in tandem with one another.”

“One stage, viewed by adults, on which the characters lose something as they engage with their world, and another stage, watched by children, where that which has been lost becomes visible,” he wrote in a handwritten letter to his fans.

“Eat Your Young” was released as a part of Hozier’s EP of the same name, which came out on March 17. It also features songs “All Things End” and “Through Me (The Flood)”. He shared new music with the world in honor of his birthday and said there’s more on the way. His next album Unreal Unearth will hit the shelves this summer, and he’s planning to embark on a tour across Europe and North America to promote its release.
