Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has a close relationship with his fans and enjoys making their day whenever he gets an opportunity. During his recent visit to London, UK, he joined a cover band on stage and helped them play his 1994 hit “Basket Case”.

Armstrong was visiting a local pub, Slim Jim’s Liquor Store, one night and was in attendance for a show by a band called Borderline Toxic. They were playing a set of covers that night and, at one point, started doing a rendition of Green Day’s “Basket Case”. Hearing his own song, Armstrong couldn’t help himself but jump on the stage and take part in the performance.

Borderline Toxic later shared the footage of the performance on their official Instagram.

“The moment your band gets joined on stage by your childhood idol to sing their own song with you… in your favourite dive bar!!” the band wrote in the caption.

Borderline Toxic’s lead singer Kerry Glass later told BBC that she was over the moon after playing with Armstrong as Green Day is one of her favorite bands.

“I used to sit in my bedroom and listen to all their albums. So I’ve got zero chills over this. This is amazing,” Glass shared.
