Punk rockers Green Day have been busier in 2022 than we thought. Besides touring the world for Hella Mega Tour, their tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer, the band apparently also recorded music for their new album.

Green Day made a reveal on Tik Tok via video that recapped what they did in the past year. Alongside the footage from live shows and backstage parties, the band added a caption in which they listed many of their activities, including “working recording our record in London & LA.”

The group teased new music on several occasions in the past, posting short snippets on social media. This included a video showing Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool, discussing and rehearsing previously unheard tracks in a studio.

The details about the project are scarce at the moment, although we should expect more details in the future. Green Day wrapped up their touring activities for the time being and will now likely focus on finishing their 14th studio release.

Green Day presented its most recent record, Father of All…, back in early 2020. The album was a commercial success, reaching No. 4 on US Billboard 200 and topping the UK Charts. However, the critics were mixed about the release, with opinions ranging from “good time from start to finish” to “hot mess” and “disaster.”
