Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour was one of the defining pop culture moments of 2023, and Gayle got to witness it from the front-row seat. The 19-year-old singer recently opened up about her experience touring alongside Swift and called it the most amazing thing in the entire world.
Gayle broke into the music industry with her viral hit “ABCDEFU” in 2021, which topped the charts all around the world and peaked at No. 3 in the US. She earned several major award nominations in the wake of its success, including a nod for the song of the year at the Grammy Awards.
She was planning to embark on a headlining tour across North America about a year later but decided to cancel it to focus on her mental health. This decision proved to be a blessing in disguise because she quickly received an offer she couldn’t refuse—serving as an opening act for Taylor Swift.
Gayle reflected on her time on The Eras Tour during a recent interview on NBC News Now and said it was an incredible experience to tour by Swift’s side.
“It was the most amazing thing in the whole entire world. It’s like having a summer fling that you’ll never forget about. Taylor’s stage is almost the length of a football field and it’s crazy that they let you on that stage… It took me five minutes to run the whole stage,” said Gayle.
