Frank Ocean’s set faced a lot of backlash during Coachella Week 1 and he won’t be coming back for another round. He canceled his headlining appearance due to a leg injury and will reportedly be replaced by Blink-182.

Ocean’s representative released a statement announcing his exit, revealing that his Week 1 show was reworked after he suffered an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to his performance. Due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg, he’ll miss Weekend 2 on the doctor’s advice.

Ocean’s performance faced major scrutiny, after kicking off one hour later and ending earlier than planned due to local curfew restrictions. Given this was his first live performance in six years, many of his fans found it disappointing, especially since it wasn’t live-streamed on YouTube for a larger audience.

Frank Ocean acknowledged the backlash after canceling his second show, saying, “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”

Bad Bunny and Blackpink are also serving as headliners at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and Blink-182 is expected to join them this weekend following Ocean’s exit.
