American rockers Foo Fighters announced they have a new album, titled But Here We Are, coming later this year. The record, the band’s first after the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, is scheduled for release on June 2nd.

As part of the announcement, the group also shared the album’s first single, “Rescued.” The track is a Foo Fighters classic, delivering a signature guitar-centric sound and powerful vocals. It is described as “the first of 10 songs that run the emotional gamut from rage and sorrow to serenity and acceptance, and myriad points in between.”

Foo Fighters previously teased new music with several social media posts before detailing But Here We Are. The new record was produced by the band a frequent collaborator Greg Kurstin and will contain 10 songs. It is available for pre-order through the band’s website.

“A brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters have endured recently, But Here We Are is a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family,” Foo Fighters said in the press release.

After Hawkins passed away in March 2022, Foo Fighters mostly kept a low profile aside from organizing a pair of tribute concerts for their late drummer. There were initial rumors about the future of the group, but the surviving band members went on to confirm in December that they would continue playing and making music together. It is still unclear whether the Foo Fighters will recruit a permanent replacement for Hawkins or opt for touring musicians.
