Florence And The Machine have teased two new tracks.

The new tracks “Moderation” and “Haunted House” are Florence Welch’s first release since her studio album High As Hope which was released last year.

The two new tracks couldn’t be more different from one another. “Moderation” has a typically Florency feel thanks to her bellowing vocals and enormous energy, but the harps and chimes have been replaced by a drum track and electric guitar.

On the other hand, “Haunted House” gets its ‘Florency feel’ from the stripped back piano melody and creative vocals. At the same time, it sounds completely different to anything from Lungs or High As Hope.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, Florence explained: “‘Moderation’ was written during the time I was writing ‘High As Hope’. It was one of those instant songs but didn’t fit with the theme of the record cos I knew I wasn’t writing a relationship record.

“It’s about reaching outwards and being cross that someone can’t give you what you want, but the chorus came from a childhood memory of being told off in church.”

Florence is currently on tour in Australia and New Zealand and will head to North America in May for the final stint of her world tour.
